Social Media, Reputation action and Governance in Middle East

After brands got shaken by the people power aka social media in modern times, brands starting in the West & now in the Middle East have awakened to the need to investing into social media & marking it as integral part of the marketing plan.
After the learning of the brands, it was time for governments to get tamed. This time though, the tsunami of social media made its onslaught on the African & Middle Eastern countries moving heads of states who were until recently known as permanent / unshakable.
The wheel has turned further and governments across the globe are investing into monitoring social media & have decided to give higher thrust into participating by creating strong social media presence. Within a few months we will get to know see the recent steps the governments in the region have taken towards this. But there have been exceptions.
As always, Dubai & the Leadership of Dubai had sensed the importance of social media had invested time & effort into social media much before the tsunami had struck some of the regional African countries. The Jordanian leaderships active presence in the social media since long ago has also garnered reputation & media lime light as did the active social media presence of the ruler of Dubai.
