Snapchat is the hot new kid on the social media scene, and it’s taking on Facebook and Instagram in the competition for mind space.

Snapchat is primarily a photo sharing app, but they have recently pushed out updates that make sharing through chat more fun. Even if you have updated to the latest version, some of these features are not immediately visible, and chances are you might have missed it.

Instantly Get the Right Sticker

Snapchat has more than a hundred stickers to choose from, so this trick will save you time.
To find a sticker, type a keyword into the chat window (eg: ‘love’, ‘crying’) and click the sticker button. A list of stickers will appear – the ones that appear first will be the most relevant to your keyword.

Send Your Location

You’re meeting up with a group of people at this cool new place. When you type the address into chat, it will display in a card that links to Google or Apple Maps. This feature will help your friends quickly navigate their way to the meetup.

View Links in One Place

Previous versions of Snapchat required the user to exit the app to view a link. Now clicking a link within chat will open the link in the in-app browser. To move back to chat, you just need to click on the arrow button at the top of the page.

Share Multiple Photos and Videos

It’s easier to select and send multiple photos in the conversation using the photo editor feature. Snapchat has improved the layout so that the photos will appear together in the chat window. You can also include multiple videos from your camera roll, and even annotate them as you like.

Spot the Lurker

In older versions, the ‘Send’ button turned blue when multiple parties were viewing the conversation at the same time. The most recent upgrade changes it to an emoji, which pops up if you and a friend are viewing the same chat at once. That means no more sneaking around conversations unnoticed.

Snapchat can be used to create juicy stories that really get the attention of your audience. If you want to know how you can make Snapchat work for your brand, get in touch with us, and we will show you how.
